Upgraded Glutathione is the result of a never-ending search for the single most powerful supplement you can take to Bulletproof your body in as many ways as possible. If there were one supplement that could help to ...

  • Reduce inflammation in the body
  • Optimize brain function
  • Detoxify the body
  • Protect against mycotoxins
  • Bolster the immune system
  • Remove heavy metals from the body

... would you take it?

I would, and I do. In fact, so does my entire family. Upgraded Glutathione is the single most powerful supplement in your toolbox of ways to increase your performance, fight aging, and improve your brain function at the same time.

Why Upgraded Glutathione Makes You Bulletproof

Glutathione is the most powerful antioxidant in your body. It is found in every cell and is used to protect the body from inflammation, toxins, and pathogens. When your body doesn’t make enough glutathione, you may be at higher risk for a range of diseases and ailments (1).

Glutathione offers powerful protection ... if you use the right kind.

What Makes Upgraded Glutathione Different

There are three ways to boost glutathione in your body:

  1. Take glutathione precursors like whey protein and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC).
  2. Get glutathione injections.
  3. Take oral glutathione supplements.

The first option works, but it doesn’t raise glutathione levels very high. There is also a lot of variation in the quality of these supplements. Some whey proteins and N-acetyl cysteine supplements work well, and others don't.  Glutathione injections can boost your glutathione levels sky high, but they’re expensive, can be a hassle, and require a doctor’s prescription.

The last option is easy and effective--oral glutathione supplements.  But it's important to choose an oral glutathione supplement carefully.  Some are effective, while others are ineffective or even harmful.

When you consume glutathione in food, it’s usually destroyed by your digestive system and doesn’t do you any good. To overcome this problem, the most effective oral glutathione supplements contain glutathione molecules that are encased in small fats called liposomes. These capsules protect the glutathione from the digestive process and allow it to be absorbed into the body.  However, some brands use low quality hydrogenated fats to hold their glutathione, which are inflammatory.

Upgraded Glutathione is protected with liposomes made from high quality unoxidized fats, which are themselves antiinflammatory. In addition, at just 14 nanometers, the liposomes are smaller than the liposomes in other glutathione supplements.  This makes Upgraded Glutathione safe and more potent than other brands.

Glutathione doesn't generally enter the system unless it is encapsulated in lipids (healthy fats). This is called "liposomal encapsulation." You are correct that most glutathione supplements will not be absorbed, and this is because those glutathione supplements are not encapsulated in lipids. Upgraded Glutathione is encapsulated in very high quality phospholipids and MCT fats, allowing the glutathione to be absorbed quickly and effectively. Most other lipid encapsulated glutathione supplements use cheaper lipids derived from soy that aren't as healthy.

Upgraded Glutathione is mixed with selenomethionine, the most potent form of selenium available. Selenium is another important antioxidant that helps protect glutathione and increases your body’s natural production of glutathione.  Upgraded Glutathione is sealed in a BPA-free container to prolong its effectiveness and keep you safe from dangerous plastic chemicals.

How Upgraded Glutathione Optimizes the Central Nervous System

Glutathione may help improve your short-term brain function, long-term memory, and help protect against cognitive decline.  Glutathione helps decrease inflammation throughout the body, and inflammation decreases brain function. There's even evidence that low glutathione levels are associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s (2).  Other studies indicate that Alzheimer’s is associated with oxidative stress, a sign that glutathione levels are depleted (3) (4).

If you plan on having kids, Upgraded Glutathione may help reduce conditions associated with autism.  Autism is associated with a lower ability to produce glutathione, which may contribute to the condition (5) (6).

How Upgraded Glutathione Detoxifies The Body

Glutathione is needed to help bind and remove toxins from every tissue in your body. If you don’t have enough glutathione, toxins may build up in the body.  Some of the best evidence behind the powerful detoxifying effects of glutathione comes from drug research.

Acetaminophen poisoning is one of the most common drug related problems in developed countries. Acetaminophen depletes mitochondrial glutathione levels, which makes them more vulnerable to oxidative stress (7).  Doctors often use glutathione to help protect people who’ve consumed too much acetaminophen from liver damage, and to remove the drugs from their system (8) (9).  This is because glutathione is one of the most powerful natural detoxifying agents.

Studies have also shown that glutathione supplements can help protect against the toxic effects of cancer drugs on regular cells, without stopping them from killing cancer cells (10-12).

How Upgraded Glutathione Protects Your Body from Mold Toxins

Mycotoxins, also known as mold toxins, are damaging compounds produced by various molds and fungi. They can cause cancer, brain damage, and heart, liver, and kidney disease. These mold toxins are almost everywhere in modern society, especially in food. While there are steps you can take to avoid them, almost everyone is exposed to (at least some) mold toxins on a daily basis.

Upgraded Glutathione helps protect you against exposure to these toxins.  In vitro, glutathione helped protect against the toxic effects of aflatoxin and fusarium, two of the most common mold toxins (13,14).  In one study, when lab rats were given large amounts of aflatoxin to cause liver cancer, glutathione helped prevent and reverse the growth of tumors (15).

Mold toxins are a serious, often unavoidable risk to health--one that Upgraded Glutathione can help reduce.

How Upgraded Glutathione Protects Against Heart Disease

Studies have shown that low glutathione levels are associated with an increased risk of heart disease (16).  Heart disease and atherosclerosis are sometimes triggered by inflammation, and glutathione plays a key role in preventing this from happening.

People with high triglycerides typically have lower glutathione levels (17).  When blood cells from people with atherosclerosis are incubated with glutathione, they become less prone to stick together.  Inside the body, this means the cells would be less likely to cause clots and a heart attack (18) (19) (20).

Why Upgraded Glutathione Helps “Serve And Protect” Your Gut

Research has shown that glutathione supplements may help improve gut health by decreasing oxidative stress.  This may help soothe inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) conditions as well as Crohn's (21) (22) (23).  Some research even suggests that glutathione may help reduce inflammation in people who are allergic to gluten (24).

Even small amounts of toxins can damage your gut and cause inflammation, brain fog, and lethargy.  Upgraded Glutathione can help defend against these invaders and keep your gut functioning at full capacity.

How Upgraded Glutathione Fights Infections

While inflammation is caused by too much immune function, too little immune function can also cause problems. If the immune system isn’t prepared to fight off pathogens, viruses and bacteria can gain a foothold and decrease performance.  Studies have found that glutathione supplements may help improve immune function by reducing oxidative stress in the immune system's cells (25,26).

For this reason, glutathione helps kill influenza virus in vitro and in animals (27) (28), and may also help people with cystic fibrosis (a disease that can weaken the immune system) fight bacterial infections (29) (30).

Your body needs a strong immune system to fight off infections, and good control of its immune system to keep it from overreacting. Upgraded Glutathione increases your resilience by improving both of these factors for high performance.

How Upgraded Glutathione Helps Protect Your Body from Heavy Metal Poisoning

Heavy metals like mercury damage cells and decrease performance. Heavy metals are present in many household items and in some cosmetics (some makeup and deodorant products) and foods (some fish).  Glutathione helps detoxify mercury, cadmium, and arsenic in at least two ways: it increases the cells' ability to resist the toxic effects of heavy metals, and it helps remove them from the body (31) (32).

The human body isn’t very good at getting rid of toxic heavy metals, so they often build-up and decrease performance. Upgraded Glutathione may help increase the resilience of cells to deal with heavy metals and eliminate heavy metals from the body.

How Upgraded Glutathione Protects Your Body from Alcohol Damage

Sometimes, you probably expose yourself to some toxins on purpose – like alcohol. There’s nothing wrong with a drink every now and then, but long-term alcohol consumption is not good for you. Alcohol depletes glutathione levels, and can make your cells more susceptible to oxidative stress (33).

Upgraded Glutathione can help shield your body against the negative effects of alcohol, so when you do have a drink, it doesn’t decrease your performance as much as it would otherwise.

How Upgraded Glutathione Helps Prevent Aging

Inflammation is tied to aging, which may be why people with high glutathione levels tend to live longer than those with low levels (34).

Some research indicates that damage to the power plants of your cells – the mitochondria, is a key factor in aging. Your body needs glutathione to protect your mitochondria, and when you don’t have enough, they can get damaged. This is especially true for liver cells. When mitochondria are low in glutathione, the liver is more susceptible to the negative effects of toxins (35).

Some studies also indicate that glutathione depletion may contribute to age-related diseases like osteoporosis (36).
